Overview
Percutaneous discectomy and annuloplasty (including techniques like nucleoplasty and IDET) use small instruments to remove a small amount of disc material or treat the disc's outer wall, relieving pressure on nearby nerves and reducing pain — all without the recovery time of open spine surgery. Both lumbar (LPDA) and cervical (CPDA) approaches are offered, typically for one or two disc levels. Workup often includes discography and epidurogram imaging beforehand, and may be paired with intradiscal steroid, trigger point injection, or PRP as part of the treatment plan.
