Trigger Point Injections
Targeted injections into tight, painful muscle knots to relieve myofascial pain.
Overview
Trigger point injections target tight bands of muscle ('knots') that cause localized and sometimes referred pain. A small amount of anesthetic (with or without steroid) is injected directly into the trigger point to relax the muscle and interrupt the pain cycle. Often used alongside physical therapy for lasting benefit.
